Le port de Bormes the Mimosas is located right opposite the island of Port-Cros. The latter is one of the three jewels of Hyères: to Golden Islands. Le Levant, Port-Cros and Porquerolles are all three aligned, and it is obviously possible (and even strongly recommended!) to go and have a look around. During the summer period, the company Green Latitude takes you there directly from Bormes. Several providers for your crossings
Green Latitude, departing from Bormes port, operates from March to October. You will find the departure on the right side of the port, 100m after the blue wooden building of the sailing club. Their boat is the first hybrid ferry of Var. It is on a human scale, offering only 50 places. When it enters the Port-Cros National Park, and around the islands in general, it switches to electric propulsion. La legend, reported by the Hyères writer Gustave Roux, tells that King Olbianus had 4 beautiful daughters whom he loved so much. The three furthest sisters formed the Golden Islands, while the youngest, reaching out a desperate arm towards her father, refers to the Giens peninsula.
And indeed, they are all more beautiful one than the other. Each has its own particularity: The Levant is known for its strange cohabitation between soldiers and nudists, Port-Cros which gives its name to the Diawling is very wild and natural, and Porquerolles is the largest, most developed, with big beaches.
