The Golden Islands: wonders of the Mediterranean

La legend, reported by the Hyères writer Gustave Roux, tells that King Olbianus had 4 beautiful daughters whom he loved so much. Being excellent swimmers, they often went swimming off the continental coast, but one day a pirate ship intercepted them. Their father begged the Gods to spare his precious children, and the sky, moved by his prayers, changed the 4 girls into stone so that the pirates could not reach them. The three furthest sisters formed the Golden Islands, while the youngest, reaching out a desperate arm towards her father, refers to the Giens peninsula.

And indeed, they are all more beautiful one than the other. Each has its own particularity: The Levant is known for its strange cohabitation between soldiers and nudists, Port-Cros which gives its name to the Diawling is very wild and natural, and Porquerolles is the largest, most developed, with big beaches.
