Diverse hiking landscapes

The situation of Bormes the Mimosas, between the Massif des Maures and littoral azure, gives it a prime location for magnificent hikes. And so that you can enjoy this great diversity of landscapes, we offer routes in the scrubland, crossing the hills and plains, but also as close as possible to the sea along the coast. Discover Bormes from all angles, at any time of the year. You can just as easily walk among the oaks and umbrella pines with a breathtaking view of all the surroundings, as discover our most beautiful beaches by following the coastal path.

Did you know?

Henri Salvador sang his love for Bormes ❤️ In his song “Bormes les mimosas”, the singer describes the beauty of the landscapes and the good life found there.

Varied difficulty levels

On the coast

Among hikes possible, there are those which are on the littoral. They take the coastal path, called coastal path which runs along the Borméan coast. In many places, you will find yourself walking among rocks. You will therefore need good shoes. You will cross many beaches, so you should plan to walk in the sand. Apart from these rocky and sandy passages, there is little to no difference in altitude. However, depending on the sections chosen, they can be long. For example, if you are going back and forth between Cabasson and the beach of theArgentiere by coast it will take you 6 to 7 hours.

In the massif

Then there are the more difficult, long and steep walks: the Hauts de Bormes or the Trois Cols. You need to bring something to eat and drink because you are in the middle of nature. You should not leave too late, at the risk of doing a section at night, depending on the time of year. They are rather reserved for experienced hikers. Finally, we offer hikes easier, but which allow you to enjoy the sublime landscapes just as much. There are those of Notre-Dame de Constance at the start of the village and from Lac du Trapan to the entrance to Bormes. One has a little bit of a difference in altitude, the other doesn't, and both take about 2 hours. Then, for an easy but longer walk (6 hours), try the one from Forêt du Dom.
