Contribute to the MHAB 100th Anniversary Exhibition
The MHAB – Bormes Museum of History and Art will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year (1926-2026) and has put together a special program inviting you to discover or rediscover those who made Bormes a city of artists, as well as previously unpublished archives.
On this occasion, the MHAB is preparing a future photographic exhibition on Bormes from 1926 to today and is asking you to contribute.
Did you or any members of your family grow up in Bormes? Do you have any old photographs, paintings, or documents about the town? Do you have any testimonies or anecdotes about life in Bormes, its traditions, and developments? Do you have any photographs or souvenirs to share about the museum and its building?
We are looking for :
Photographs or iconography (drawings, paintings, etc.) depicting the village of Bormes, the plain, its coastline, and the museum building. The period covered includes the 19th and 20th centuries. Individuals may be visible and identifiable. Any anecdote or testimony related to the village and its inhabitants that echoes this period may also be of interest to us.
The exhibition will provide an insight into the village of Bormes over the past 100 years by giving it a more vivid resonance through the iconographic and oral memory of its inhabitants.
The documents presented will be selected for the upcoming exhibition and will be preserved and then digitized to be included in the museum's documentary collection. At the end of the exhibition, the museum will return the original documents to the owners.
