Like a Bormes, you will find remains of a castle originally built by the Lords of Fos. He dominates Hyères and you can discover its remains. Villa Noailles and the museums
La Villa Noailles, located in the old Hyeres, is a reference in terms ofArt and Culture. The Giens Peninsula and the Salt Marshes
The Salt marshes, former salt marshes which have become protected bird reserve, constitutes the double tombolo leading to the Giens peninsula. If you love nature, this incredible and beautiful site is really a must see. The Salins reserve home to over 200 species of birds, including the majestic Flamingo. There are trails, including the coastal path, which allow you to go along the Salins, then also along the coast of the end of the Peninsula. Also visit the small village of Giens. You will also find the Tour Fondue pier, another way to take a ferry to the island of Porquerolles.
The Golden Islands
The Golden or Hyères Islands: Porquerolles, Port-Cros et the Levant, are located at the ends of Hyères and in front of Bormes the Mimosas. 3 islands with dreamy colors, translucent waters and fine sandy beaches with magnificent nature for walking and cycling and small typical ports with old-fashioned flavors at sunset. An impression of being at the end of the world just a few kilometers away by boat!
The archaeological site of Olbia
The site is a remnant of the fortified city ofOlbia founded by the Greeks around 325 BCE! You can see remains of baths, shops, houses from the period, and discover the evolution of an ancient city 1000 years ago. It is open to the public from April to the end of October.
