St. Francis Square

Start your route on the St. Francis Square, the main square of the village. From here, there is a breathtaking view of the entire village. At dawn or sunset, you breathe, admire, listen. Close your eyes, can you hear them? The cicadas are just above you, in the pine trees that line the square. This is also where the greatest Borméens bowlers play pétanque and where, on Wednesday mornings during the summer season, the provencal market.

Place Gambetta

Move forward to the Place Gambetta, a traditional square carved into the hillside around 1760 to beautify the village. It is on this square that concerts and public balls take place. The Chapel of Saint Francis

In Romanesque style, it was built between 1519 and 1560 in homage to Saint Francis who delivered the city from the plague in 1483.

The Castle of the Lords of Fos

The highest point in the village, it was built between the 13th and 14th centuries and has been listed as a historic monument since 1931 for its main tower.

It is not open to visitors but you can admire a magnificent view embracing the bay of Lavandou, the islands of Levant and Port Cros, port of Favière and the private domain of Cap Bénat.

Saint-Trophyme Church Bormes les Mimosas

Saint-Trophyme Church

The church built within the castle grounds became too small, so the town built the Saint-Trophyme church in the 18th century, with Romanesque architecture and inspiration.

It is thanks to President Pompidou that its sundial and its Latin motto were restored. He will thus give his name to the forecourt of the church. It is famous for having very often welcomed the presidential couple Chirac during masses when they stayed at Fort de Brégançon.

Where to park in the village?

You can park in the Saint-François car park (paying) on ​​levels 1 and 2 or in the free spaces at the château, on the side of the road on avenue Jean Aicard and in the blue zones (with parking disc in season).

What is the market day in the village?

The village market takes place every Wednesday morning on Place Saint-François.

Can I walk to the beach from the village?

You can walk to La Favière beach via the GR90. It will take about 25 minutes to walk. However, the beaches on the Cabasson and Léoube road side will be too far away.

Can I see mimosa in the village?

In Bormes les Mimosas, mimosa is scattered all over the area. You can therefore see some of them blooming in the village.
