Cigalou Park

This property belonged to the Jacob family and was bought by the commune of Bormes les Mimosas in 1979 to make it a public park exclusively at the request of the sellers. 

Charles Jacob had bought the Cigalou property in 1928 to care for his wife Germaine whose days were numbered. The doctors had advised the mild climate of the Côte d'Azur. Germaine survived her husband by almost 40 years! Germaine Jacob remained very attached to the Cigalou. After her husband's death in 1941 she lived most of the year in Bormes. She courageously repaired the damage caused by the war and the occupation in the house and in the park. For a few years she even ran a boarding house. She planted a large number of trees who are today making thepark ornament municipal.
