Opéra TPM

The Toulon Opera House, built between 1856 and 1862 based on plans by the architect Léon Feuchère, is listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments.
Its decoration is the work of Toulon artists: the statues on the south façade are the work of Joseph Daumas, those on the north façade by Marius Montagne. The red and gold interior, richly decorated with paintings, stuccos and bronzes, is in the purest Napoleon III style.

With a capacity of 1300 people, the Toulon Opera is one of the largest provincial opera houses and is renowned for the quality of its acoustics.

The Toulon Opera has been managed by the Toulon Provence Méditerranée urban area since 2003. With a diversified programme, brought up to standard and renovated, the Opera has today regained its place among the great European lyrical institutions.

The Toulon Opera opens its doors to visitors during the European Heritage Days.
