Bormes the MimosasSoapbox Race in Bormes les Mimosas: A unique event of its kind! The village of Bormes les Mimosas at the heart of an unusual and exciting event: a soapbox race, organized by the association The K-lus, in partnership with the city. This event, as fun as it is spectacular, promises to attract young and old alike for a colorful and adrenaline-filled day.
What is a Soapbox?
For the uninitiated, soapboxes are vehicles without engines that move forward solely thanks to the force of gravity. Made of wood or metal, these small, homemade speedsters are equipped with wheels, a steering wheel and brakes to ensure a minimum of control on slopes. Although some are built for recreational descents, others are developed for real sports competitions where every detail counts to maximize speed.
The Race Progress
In the heart of the village of Bormes les Mimosas, around forty soapboxes take part in this thrilling race. Each team showcases its creativity and technical skills to present boxes that are not only high-performance, but also original and sometimes eccentric.
A Friendly Event for All
Beyond the competition, this race is a celebration of creativity, ingenuity and team spirit. Spectators will not only be able to admire the performance of the vehicles, but also enjoy the festive atmosphere that will invade the streets of the village. The event is a great opportunity to spend a friendly moment with family or friends, while discovering an original aspect of motor sport.
